Captain J.J. Cole

CAPTAIN

The Captain of Uniform Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Uniform Services Division, which includes the Patrol, Traffic, Bike and Housing Authority unit as well as the School Resource Officer. The Uniform Services Captain plans, directs and coordinates the Department’s uniformed officers in law enforcement patrol operations. Some of the Patrol Captain’s primary functions are to review incident and accident reports, internal reports such as Pursuit review and Use of Force review and re-evaluate or create policy and procedures that best manages the mission of the Carrollton Police Department.

Captain J. J. Cole is the Captain of the Uniform Services Division. He began his law enforcement career with the Carrollton Police Department in September of 2002. J.J. came to Carrollton PD in 2002 after completing the Georgia Police Corps program. He was assigned to C-Shift until 2012, where he served as an Officer, Corporal and Sergeant. He then moved to CID and served as a Detective until 2016. J.J. then came back to the Uniform Division as a Lieutenant and has been in that role since. J.J. has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from UWG and has achieved 3,435 hours of POST training. He has obtained his Intermediate, Advanced, Supervision and Management certifications. He is a certified Field Training Officer and Instructor. He is currently the commander of the Special Response Team.
