The Captain of Uniform Services is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Uniform Services Division, which includes the Patrol Unit, Traffic Unit, Bike Unit, Housing Authority Unit, School Resource Officers, and the Honor Guard. The Captain of Uniform Services for the Carrollton Police Department is Jami Sailors. Jami began his law enforcement career in 1993 with the Bremen Police Department, where he worked as a police officer for four years and a shift sergeant for three years. Jami came to the Carrollton Police Department in November of 2000. While at the Carrollton Police Department, Jami has worked day shift patrol, night shift patrol, bicycle patrol, and the traffic division. He worked as Corporal on C Shift for 3 years and then was promoted to Sergeant on D Shift. He worked as Sergeant on D Shift until he was promoted to Captain in 2008. Jami has been on the police departments Honor Guard and the police departments Crime Scene Unit since 2003. He has been a Field Training Officer since 2003 and a Departmental Firearms Instructor since 2004.
Jamison is also a certified General Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and Firearms Instructor. He is also a certified Crime Scene Technician and has completed all of his courses for his Intermediate and Advanced Certifications, and Supervision Certification. Jamison is a member of G.A.L.E.F.I. (Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors), Georgia Division of the International Association for Identification, and the Fraternal Order of Police (Tony Garrett Lodge in Carrollton).
